About Box Template Maker

Box Template Maker draws printable box templates sheet first: pick A4, Letter or another standard sheet and one of 41 boxes, and it works out the biggest box that fits, shows its inside size, draws the sheet as it prints in the line styles you choose and plays how to fold it. A PDF to print or an SVG to cut. Free, and made in your browser.

Why it exists

Most free box templates come in a handful of fixed sizes, and scaling one up in a print dialog makes the flaps and tabs wrong along with it. Here the whole template is worked out from your size: walls, flaps, tabs and clearances.

How the templates are checked

Every template is a set of flat panels joined by creases. Before the site is published, a test folds each kind of box in 3D, at its starting size, at the ready-made sizes and at hundreds of random sizes and board thicknesses, and checks that the inside size is what was asked, that every edge meets its neighbour within 0.3 mm, that tabs and flaps lie flat inside the walls they glue to, and that no two walls pass through each other.

Type and credits
